The stole «Lace of Silence» is an original artwork in the Wearable Art genre, made with the author's own lace-felting technique «Richelieu» in felt, nuno felting. Fine 18 micron merino wool from an Italian mill and natural, exotic, ultra-fine Excelsior silk from Uzbekistan form an elegant openwork composition. Intricate interweavings of raised lines resemble lace. Sheer sections of the fabric let light through, revealing an interplay of textures, shadows and volumes. The white colour emphasises the purity of the artistic concept.

About the work
I don't create textiles spontaneously: the process is preceded by creative immersion and a search for ideas. The technique itself was born many years ago, but I always change the pattern. The idea was to invent a lace that would adorn special women who value their individuality and own things that emphasise femininity, purity and nobility. A piece for special occasions: weddings, a little one's christening, the theatre, festive events, or simply strolls around the city or through a park in trainers and a sweater, as in the photo. Stoles like this are always a success at exhibitions and festivals, and they catch the eye of stylists and artists… It's no accident that I'm presenting this work first, because it is my signature piece.
