Kir’yakov Pavlo — member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine A diplomat paints not what he sees, but what he remembers with his heart. Every painting is a bridge between cultures, memories and hope. Pavlo Kir’yakov — Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, marine geologist — for decades represented Ukraine on the international stage, built dialogue between countries, studied the depths of the oceans and gathered impressions from all over the world. When the time came, he did not retire but switched to a new language — the language of color and light. He is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. His artistic language is utterly original. He never copies anyone. He paints from memory, the way a diplomat recounts what he has lived through: selectively, emotionally, precisely. Thick impasto, swirling lines of water, hot sunlit colors — this is not just a style, but the artist's personal signature. Every brushstroke carries the voice of a person who saw the world not from a bus window, but from negotiating halls, ship decks and mountain trails. In his canvases, the diplomat's genuine memories come alive. "Warm Memories" of the majestic architecture of Barcelona, the inner calm of the Macedonian mountains in "Quiet Lake" and "Magic of Feelings", the symbol of Ukraine in "And the Dnipro, and the Steep Banks", as well as the dance of life in "Dance of the Lilies" and "Old Whirlpool" — all of this continues to resonate even when darkness gathers around. Water in his paintings becomes a metaphor for diplomacy: it reflects the sky, the mountains and the soul at once, never repeating itself. Light is the artist's main mission today: to give hope and beauty even in the most difficult times. It is no accident that his first solo exhibition was called "With Faith in the Future". The boldness of color, emotional power and energy of Pavlo Kir’yakov's brushwork recall the spirit of the great masters — Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet. Today their works are worth tens and hundreds of millions of dollars. The art of Pavlo Kir’yakov is precisely this kind of investment in Ukrainian art that should not be overlooked. The works of an artist with a unique biography already enjoy international recognition and have every chance of eventually entering significant private and museum collections. Pavlo Kir’yakov has created his own language — warm, energetic, Ukrainian in spirit and universal in scale. A language you cannot confuse with any other. The language of a diplomat who, instead of words, began to speak in paint.
