I create from the inside out, never knowing what the result will be. In my work, I express emotions that people experience in life. Painting is only part of my process; I often dance and sing while creating, strike the canvas with wheat stalks, throw paint-filled pine cones at it, and use different materials — from natural elements to my own body. I never begin with a finished image in mind. I start with an emotion and let the painting develop through movement, touch, and intuition. When something begins to emerge, I respond to it and give it form until the work feels complete.
